We're transitioning again, and we’re excited to grow our team! We are currently hiring for:

• One full-time position (30–40 hours/week)

• One part-time position (16–20 hours/week)

Hours of Operation:

• Monday–Friday: 7:30 AM – 7:00 PM

• Saturday: 7:30 AM – 6:00 PM

• Sunday: 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM

• Plus occasional evening special events (typically Thursday–Saturday)

What We’re Looking For:
Our ideal candidates will have a regular schedule but also be flexible when needed. This includes occasional shift changes due to call-ins or additional staffing for events.

Please note:

• Must be able to stand for long periods and lift at least 

• Flexibility is essential for this role

-Must be at least 16 years of age

-Greet and welcome customers in a friendly and professional manner
- Provide excellent customer service by welcoming customers to the space, assisting customers with their needs and inquiries, checking on them throughout their visit and thanking them for stopping in

-Reliable work attendance
- Operate POS system to process customer orders and payments
- Handle cash transactions accurately and efficiently
- Prepare and serve coffee and other beverages to customers
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area
- Follow food safety guidelines to ensure the quality and freshness of products
- Assist with stocking shelves and maintaining inventory levels
- Collaborate and communicate with team members to ensure smooth operations

-Supervise visits in the Kitty Cove. Provide directions to patrons, monitor cats healthy, safety, and stress level.

-Occasionally help set up events at the Vendor Emporium next door, as we also utilize that space

-Arrive with a positive energy to help ensure a quality experience for customers, coworkers and cats

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 8 hours per shift).

• Frequently lift, carry, push, and pull up to 30 pounds (milk containers, supplies, boxes, and café equipment).

• Perform repetitive hand and wrist movements while preparing beverages, operating espresso equipment, and using a point-of-sale system.

• Bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and twist to retrieve supplies, clean equipment, and stock inventory.

• Maintain a fast pace while multitasking in a busy café environment.

• Ability to safely operate commercial coffee equipment, grinders, blenders, and other food service equipment.

• Comfortable working in a warm, noisy environment with exposure to steam, hot liquids, and cleaning chemicals.

• Possess sufficient visual acuity to accurately prepare beverages, read labels, and operate equipment.

• Ability to communicate clearly with customers and coworkers in person and over background noise.

• Maintain good manual dexterity and coordination for precise drink preparation, food handling, and cash handling.

• Ability to follow food safety and sanitation procedures while maintaining a clean, organized workspace.

For a Coffee & Cats environment, you may also want to add:

• Comfortable working in an environment where cats are present, including occasional exposure to pet dander and fur.

• Ability to follow animal safety protocols, maintain secure barriers between café and cat areas, and help ensure a calm, safe environment for both guests and cats.

 

Skills:
- Proficiency in using POS system for order processing
- Willingness to learn coffee preparation techniques and beverage recipes
- Ability to provide exceptional customer service and resolve customer issues effectively
- Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks 
- Understanding of food safety regulations and practices

 

Training:

Will need to complete onsite training and supervision on preparing quality drinks and food with attention to detail

Will need to complete food handler training

Will need to complete Humane Society volunteer training

 

Job Types Available: Full-time

 

Salary: $12.00 - $14.00 per hour plus tips (averaging $14-$19 per hour)
